WONDERFUL MACHINE!
Date: May 18, 2008
"I RECENTLY MOVED FROM THE CITY TO THE HEART OF OHIO'S SNOW BELT AND WOOD IS THE PRIMARY SOURCE OF HEAT FOR MY HOUSE. THE PREVIOUS OWNER LEFT ALOT OF UNSPLIT WOOD AND I HAD WOOD DELIVERD FROM A FRIEND THAT HAD TO BE SPLIT. I WENT TO THE LOCAL HOME CENTER AND THE QUALITY OF THE EQUIPMENT WAS NOT THAT GREAT. SO I WENT TO A TROY BUILT DEALER AND PURCHASED THERE 33 TON COMERCIAL LOG SPLITTER WITH THE HONDA ENGINE AND ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW!!! THE SPLITTER NEVER FAILED. STARTED FIRST PULL EVERY TIME! EVEN WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPPED BELOW FREEZING I HAD NO PROBLEMS. IM SURE THERE WERE A FEW PIECES THAT WERE TO BIG AND I SHOULD HAVE CUT THEM UP BUT I TRIED ANYWAY AND THE SPLITTER DID NOT HESITATE. NOT TO MENTION HOW EASY IT IS TO USE! I WOULD RECCOMEND THIS SPLITTER TO ANYONE. BETWEEN THE POWER AND HOW EASY IT IS TO USE ITS A GREAT MACHINE! I ALSO PURCHASED A TROY BUILT MOWER AND SNOW THROWER. BOTH GREAT MACHINES. I ALSO PLAN ON BUYING BEFORE FALL THE TROY BUILT WALK BEHIND LAWN VAC,CHIPPER CAUSE IM NOT RAKING THAT MANY LEAVES AGAIN!!"

33 Ton Log Splitter
Date: August 6, 2009
"I have had to replace the hydraulic reservoir tank 3 times on my 33 ton Log Splitter. Each hydraulic reservoir tank leaked within one year, because of poor manufacturing. My local troy-bilt service dealer found hairline cracks in each of the reservoir tanks.
The cost to replace the tank is very expensive, about $600 - $700.00 with labor. Once your 2 year warranty is up, you could be the one paying the bill.
Note: The log splitter I own gets little use & is stored in a garage all year round. Either I have the worst luck, or MTD needs to reassess how the hydraulic reservoir tank is manufactured."

Excellent product

"Superior performance. Plenty of hydraulic power and a Honda commercial engine. The horizontal/vertical combo orientation sort of puts the fender in the way of your knee, but your stance will quickly adapt. Only big drawback is lack of availability of a four-way splitter accessory. Highly recommend."

Great replacement splitter
Date: November 19, 2008
"Just bought this to replace my old splitter. Towed it home, topped it off with hydraulics & gas and split 3.5 cords of Walnut & Juniper. Great splitter. Way more powerfull then my old one, that was rated at 40+ tons. Starts on first pull even at 28 degree temp. Great job!"
