"I've owned a snowblower for 15 years. This snowblower replaces my old one. I used this to get to my brother's house in southern colorado after several snow storms and snow melt. It ate through the 36" icy plowed hill and down his long driveway of between 18" and 34" of settled snow in 30 minutes. Very impressive. This machine is easy to start, easy on shear-pins, well built, and does a great job with tough snow conditions."

Disappointing Chute Date: January 12, 2009
"I have to say overall this is a good product. However, I was very disappointed in the chute because it doesn't work well. On the second use, the joystick button was stuck in the pressed position so the chute would not lock into place. After looking at it, the pin wasn't locking in so it had to be oiled. Also, it's very difficult to get the chute all the way over to the right. I have to really push it hard all the way over for the pin to lock in place. It has no problem going all the way over to the left. Even when the chute is locked into position, there seems to be a lot of give in it, moving left to right. Overall, I think it's a poor chute design so I'm giving it 3 stars for this reason. But, I'm happy with the performance of the product when the chute isn't giving any problems."

First Impressions Date: January 4, 2009
"Just used it for the first time.
Engine starts 1rst pull and easily. Runs like a dream. Throws snow well. Heated grips are great.
I do not know why the are six fwd speed's all but first gear seem too fast to use clearing snow.
The 4way shoot worked OK but it feels like it will fail at at any time. In fact I expect that it will break and hope there will be a retrofit to an older crank style shoot offered soon. I think this will be overall be a good machine but the shoot will need addressing."

"I do not recommend this snow thrower. I was very disappointed the first time I used it. It's very easy to start but very hard to turn. Maybe one of the models with power steering would be better, I don't know. This is my first and last Troy-Bilt product."
