"my children gave us this 5hp snowblower a few years ago, it was bought in august.
this is the most useless piece of equipment I have ever owned. Always starts 1st or 2nd pull, never needs electric start. This machine will not even blow 2 inches of light powder. It just clogs."

"just purchased the single stage thrower, starts fine, with pull cord,i have not used electric starter yet, i have had 2 strokes and they worked fine, however they were harder to start and seemed to be tempermental at times, i have used the machine in the snow plow wake area at the end of the drive, aprox. 15" of heavy snow and was quite happy with the perfomance. i would recommend this unit to anyone in a light to moderate snowfall area, i am in nw indiana, and feel that barring a 3 foot blizzard, this machine is more than adequate."

"I purchased this machine for my parents, for Christmas '08. After two uses, the electric start whines (sometimes) but does not engage, other times it does nothing at all. If not for the starting issue (which is why I purchased this for my parents), this would be an ideal machine."

"I have only owned this snow thrower for a month but I have put it to the test with a few recent Michigan storms. I looked at other single stage units with 123CC and 170CC engines. I'm glad I went with the Troy Bilt with the 203CC engine. I can tell the difference as it just doesn't bog down like those with the smaller engines. My wife loves the electric start, she even had the drive cleared when I got home from work recently and I never even showed her how to start it. I do wish it had foam covers on the handles but other than that I'm very pleased. We have two 10" snow falls so far this season and it has performed great."
