"After our recent storm, I decided to retire my 20-yo single stage and buy a 2 stage unit. I read all the reviews, lugged the monster home. The ONLY way it will start is the electric starter. I pulled till I was blue on the starter cord and only started it once. This is the hardest manual starting machine I've ever owned. Waiting to see how it performs when we get our next Colorado snow storm"

"Just bought this yesterday after getting our first heavy snow of the season here in Colorado. This thing tears through the snow like no other. I have a rather long sidewalk and a standard sized driveway this thing will have the whole job done in about 30 mins. It would probably be less than that but I usually end up walking with it up the sidewalk quite a ways doing the neighboors walks as well. Only problem I have is it sliding off the side walk but thats not it's fault there was just too much snow and I couldn't tell where the walk ended at. I would recommend this to anyone yes it was expensive but it was money well spent."

"So far so good with unit number one on it's second season. My first "Storm" got its oil changed and then deployed to Northern New York state for heavy use. My wife used it at least 30 times this season with no problems at all. Many consecutive days of sub-freezing temperature and heavy snow.
I got a new unit to replace that one this year for Central New York weather. The new Storm has a different engine. I found that interesting but have not had any problems with it. Prime it, choke it and it starts on pull number one. However...they must use some high quality steel in the auger shear pins because they did not shear when I hit a chunk of ice provided courtesy of the town snow plow. An auger got bent up pretty badly. But as this must be where they use the cheap steel I was able to bend it back into operation with a pair of grip lock pliers and some leverage.
Even after the fix the thing shoots its load very far. Especially in medium density snow blowing with the wind. The plastic chute has not clogged yet even in the wet heavy snow from the end of the drive way.*

*Results may not be typical for the average user. Author has about 25 years experience as a snow blower operator."

"I purchased 2 yr old T-Bilt snow thrower (24" 5.5hp) from a neighbor moving South. It is easy-starting, powerful and has user-friendly controls. It is not as easy to manuver as my old Toro S-620, but it throws snow over the banks far better. We live on the shores of Lake Michigan in WI so lake effect snow is common. We had a light 10" lake effect snow the day I bought it and it has been going strong since. Buy one, you'll be glad you did!"
